Dates: Wednesdays 11, 18, 25 September, 6.30 - 8.30pm.
(Classes will be held over 3 consecutive Wednesdays.)
Would you like to try some techniques for knitting toe-up socks?
We have designed an almost matching pair of socks to teach you the following techniques to add to your sock knitting toolkit:
*toe up cast ons
*short row and double sided toes
*helical stripes
*an afterthought heel
*a short row heel.
Both socks are finished with a broken rib cuff.
Your tutors Ruth & Rachael are experienced knitters and love making socks - you'll pick up all the techniques mentioned here and more, with plenty of guidance and support. Classes will be kept small so everyone gets plenty of attention. And as always, you can pop to the shop with any problems in between.
Experience:
This is an intermediate class. You need to be able to knit, purl and have experience of knitting in the round.
You will need:
2 x 50g skeins John Arbon Exmoor Sock Yarn in contrasting colours
2.5mm DPN's
2.5mm small circular needle or longer for magic loop.
You will need DPNs for part of the knitting (or you can use them to knit the whole sock), but it is your choice if you wish to use a 23cm circular needle, or a longer one for magic loop.
Please wind the skeins into 25g balls before the class.
Please note: We will only be able to issue a refund if we can fill your space (which we'll do our best to do)
