Learn to Steek: Saturday 16th & 23rd November 2024 2-4 pm
Would you like to have a go a making a steek in a quick and easy project? Is your coffee pot getting cold on these chilly days? If so this may be the course for you.
A steek is used when knitting a flat project in the round, and then cutting through the steek stitches at the end of your project. Sound scary?
Rachael and Ruth will guide you through the process of steeking, from setting up the stitches to the making the button band, in 2 x 2hour sessions.
Ruth has designed a cafeteria cosy, in two sizes, to enable you to complete all the stages of steeking, which you could then confidently use in a larger project such as a cardigan.
The class will be kept small so everyone gets the support they need.
You will learn:
* setting up the steek

* picking up stitches for a button band
* colour dominance
* catching in floats
